Can I cancel or make changes to my hotel reservation?
You may be able to change your hotel reservation by cancelling and rebooking it. Cancellation policies vary by type of Hotwire booking, hotel policy, and room type. You can find your cancellation policy in your confirmation email and on your My Account page.
Can I cancel or change my car reservation if my plans change?
Some car reservations may be cancelled without a penalty. Log in to your My Account on Hotwire. If you have the option to cancel, a “Cancel reservation” button will appear next to your reservation. If you decide to cancel, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
Can I check in later or leave earlier than the dates I booked?
Cancellation policies for vary by hotel and room type. If you know you will be arriving after check-in time, please call the hotel directly to let them know that you will be checking in later than normal. If you arrive at the hotel after your scheduled check-in date, you will not receive any partial refund for the nights you did not stay from the hotel or Hotwire. Likewise, if you leave early, you will not receive any reimbursement for the unused portion of your reservation.
Can I add rooms to my booked reservation?
You sure can! To add a room or additional nights to an existing reservation, use their “Add to Your Stay” feature. Provided the hotel has availability, you’ll be booked an additional reservation. This means you’ll have two bookings at the same hotel with separate confirmation emails, confirmation codes and credit card charges. Your original reservation will remain unchanged.
Will I need a credit card as a deposit at the car rental counter?
Yes, the rental agency requires a credit card deposit when you pick up the car. (Some rental locations may accept debit or check cards for deposits, but they may have additional requirements such as a credit check or proof of a roundtrip itinerary.) The credit card must be in the name of the primary driver and have enough available credit for the deposit. The deposit amount varies depending on the type of car, length of rental, and any other items you purchase at the rental counter, such as insurance.
How do I find pet-friendly hotels?
Filter your hotel’s results by “Pet friendly” to find hotels that accept pets. Each hotel has different restrictions, so they recommend that you call the hotel after you book to get the details.
Why do some properties show resort fees?
Depending on the city and the property you stay in, you may be charged certain mandatory hotel-specific service fees, such as resort fees (which typically apply to resort-type destinations and, if applicable, may range from $10 to $40 per day). These charges, if applicable, will be payable by you to the hotel directly at checkout. When you check-in, a credit card or, at the hotel’s discretion, a debit card, will be required to secure these charges and any incidental fees that you may incur during your stay.
