What if I have been asked to pay a downpayment/deposit before I view a property?
Homestay.com does not operate in this way. They do not facilitate down payments of deposits at any stage of the booking process. Do not transfer money to a host who is requesting you pay a downpayment or deposit in advance of a confirmed online booking made through Homestay.com.
What should I do if I wish to extend my stay with my host?
You’ll need to check your host’s availability and create a new online booking through Homestay.com.
Can I make changes to a booking request?
If you have sent a host a request but it has not been accepted yet, you can send another message to your host through the message thread with the details of your change. If the host has accepted your request and confirmed their availability for your selected dates and/or a number of guests, you can still make changes to the booking request. But make sure your host is available to host you for your new dates and/or a new number of guests before booking.
Can I change or cancel long term booking?
To change a booking you’ll first need to confirm the change with your host. Once you have, please contact them and they will amend your booking details. You can cancel a booking in your homestay account in the booking section and by contacting your host through their message system. Please note under their terms and conditions, if you cancel your booking the booking fee paid to homestay.com is non-refundable.
What if the host cancels my booking?
In the unlikely event that the host you’ve booked to stay with needs to cancel, don’t worry, the Homestay.com team will contact you and help you find an alternative available host of a similar standard, type and location. Where the host cancels your booking they will refund your booking fee paid online.
Please note: if the host cancels a booking on your behalf the homestay.com booking fee is non-refundable as per the terms and conditions that you sign up to upon booking a homestay.
